Dr. Christopher Fitzpatrick graduated from the University of Waterloo School of Optometry in 2013 (Dean's Honours List) with a Doctor of Optometry degree. At the time of graduation, he was presented with the Dr. Michael Gutwein Award for leadership. Prior to that, Dr. Fitzpatrick received his Honours degree in Biology from the University of New Brunswick, in 2009. Originally from Fredericton, New Brunswick, Dr. Fitzpatrick now calls Waterloo home and is excited to become a part of the community.
Dr. Fitzpatrick completed his clinical internships in Fredericton, New Brunswick and Bethesda, Maryland. He has also gained excellent clinical experience practicing in Moncton, New Brunswick before returning back to Waterloo. Dr. Fitzpatrick is passionate about providing the best possible eye-care to his patients and has special interests in pediatrics, ocular disease and dry eye treatment. Dr. Fitzpatirick has also provided eye-care in developing countries, including Ecuador and in a hospital emergency room setting in Malawi, Africa. He hopes to be able to continue to volunteer his services in the future.
In his spare time, Dr. Fitzpatrick enjoys playing hockey, golf, and soccer. He is an avid hiker and has made it to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro, perhaps Everest will be next?
